On Tuesday, November 3, 2026 (national holiday), Edogawa University will host "Edogawa Girls Award (EGA) 2026," an event organized by students from the Department of Business and Social Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences, as part of its school festival. The event will be held at the Edogawa University Second Gymnasium, with doors opening at 12:45 PM and the show starting at 1:30 PM. Admission is free.
At Edogawa University, students in the Music and Fashion Business course of the Department of Business and Social Sciences within the Faculty of Social Sciences are working on planning and managing large-scale events as part of their "Seminars and Practical Training" course.
Every year on November 3rd, the same day as the school festival, an event combining music and fashion is held. Students handle everything from planning to on-the-day operation in collaboration with partner companies, and from 2010 to 2018, they held the "Edogawa Girls Collection," which centered around a fashion show.
From 2019, the event evolved into the "Edogawa Girls Award," which centered around the "Edo Awa Audition," a light music contest for female high school students in the Kanto region. In 2022, the contest name was changed to "NEXTAGE ARTIST AUDITION," expanding the target audience to music-loving high school students nationwide (the solo category is for girls only).
In 2026, students will take the lead in organizing a "music and fashion fusion event" that will include live performances by high school bands highly recommended by seminar students and major and independent artists expected to be successful in the future, as well as a public recording of a radio program and a fashion coordination competition.
