An emergency home visit service that dispatches doctors directly to their homes at night or on holidays has begun in Japan, but as the spread of new coronavirus infections continues, the number of patients who are becoming more severe and seeking this service is increasing, University of Tsukuba Health Service. It was found by a survey by the Development Research Center and the service management company, Fast Doctor.
According to the University of Tsukuba, the survey was analyzed using patient data from December 2018 to April 12 before the spread of the new corona infection and from December 2019 to April 4 after the spread of the infection.
Before the spread of the infection, 6,462% of the 82.6 patients who used the service and 7,423% of the 74.2 patients who used the service had fever and cold symptoms. The disease was 71.1% and severe 28.7%, but after the spread of infection, it was mild 0.2%, moderate 42.3%, and severe 56.7%.Mild illness decreased and moderate and severe illness increased.By age group, there are conspicuous cases of severe illness over the age of 0.9.
When the spread of the infection started, it was recommended to consult a health center instead of seeing a medical facility suddenly if fever continued or there was strong fatigue. For this reason, it is suspected that he used the emergency home visit service because he became seriously ill because he refrained from receiving an early consultation.
In the future, the research team will proceed with a questionnaire survey on whether or not the patient has refrained from seeing a doctor, and will proceed with further analysis.
