This year, the 30rd time, we will feature "German textbooks".Textbooks from 23 countries such as Japan, Turkey, India and Brazil are also exhibited, and you can compare textbooks from all over the world.

Bunkyo University's Education Research Institute (Koshigaya City, Saitama Prefecture) has been collecting high school textbooks from overseas elementary schools since the university was founded in 1991.Currently, it holds 22 books from 1498 elementary schools, 12 books from 431 junior high schools, and 4 books from 51 high schools. It is used for research on various circumstances related to the educational system of each country, and the results are announced at the annual "Textbook Exhibition in the World".

This year, we will introduce "German textbooks" as a special feature. In addition to Japanese and math, 109 German textbooks on ethics, life sciences, politics, etc. will be exhibited. The usage of textbooks in Germany is different from that in Japan, and it is said that it is common to inherit textbooks from seniors and use them for generations. Also, because the German education system is divided into 16 state jurisdictions, textbook selection criteria also vary from state to state. We will introduce the characteristics of education conducted in Germany in a panel together with the textbooks actually used. On the 29th, Associate Professor Tomoko Yamakawa of the Faculty of Letters of the same university will give a special lecture on German education.

Every year, we provide many people with the opportunity to access textbooks from around the world for free, and last year we attracted 300 visitors. There are high school students and active teachers who visit every year, saying, "It is interesting to compare textbooks from all over the world and understand the differences in the educational system. I want you to continue."
