On November 2016, 11, the Faculty of Information Science and Technology of Ritsumeikan University held the final selection of the "Aichare 26 2016th Ritsumeikan University National High School / University Software Creation Contest (ICT Challenge + R)" linked to the AO entrance exam. It will be held at the Great Learning Wako / Kusatsu Campus.

 "ICT Challenge + R" is a software creation contest sponsored by Ritsumeikan University for high school and university students nationwide who are interested in information science, regardless of genre, development language, or execution environment. Beginning in 2011, it is divided into two categories: a high school version for high school students and a university version for university students.

 The feature of this contest is that it is linked with the AO entrance exam in the high school version.Students who get a perfect score by directly linking the software screening results of the contest participants to the AO selection test (comprehensive evaluation method) of the Faculty of Information Science and Technology of Ritsumeikan University are one of the test items of the AO selection test (comprehensive evaluation method). Submission of certain self-made software is exempted and it is treated as a perfect score.So far, a total of 13 students (2011 in 3, 2012 in 2, 2013 in 3, 2014 in 2, 2015 in 3) have been enrolled through the high school version of "Aichare".

 In 2016, there were 73 entries from all over the country, and 13 works (including 7 high school students) who will make stage presentations at the final selection and 24 works (including 9 high school students) who will make booth presentations will be selected. Since 2015, the qualifications for participation in the high school version have been expanded not only to high school students, but also to current students, elementary school students, and junior high school students at schools that are recognized as equivalent, so junior high school students were also selected as finalists for the first time this time.

 On the day of the final selection, flexible communication tools created from young minds, such as new communication tools that make you feel more possibilities than twitter and LINE, and a system that uses IoT and sensors to watch over the elderly living alone and notify their families of any changes. The whole work that makes full use of the idea and the knowledge of programming will be announced.
