今回、卓越研究員の受け入れが決定した研究機関は10月末現在で、国立大学が34校、大学院が2校、公立大学が1校、私立大学が1校、研究機関が5機関、一般企業が4社で計47機関。受入数上位は産業技術総合研究所8名、東京大学6名、京都大学5名、山形大学4名となっている。
