From April 2017, the Graduate School of Medicine, Nagoya University will open a joint degree project "Nagoya University-Lund University International Collaboration Department of Comprehensive Medicine" with Lund University in Sweden.The aim is to develop human resources with an international perspective in order to solve problems common to the world.
According to Nagoya University, the joint degree is Doctor of Medicine, and the enrollment capacity is a total of four people, including two who stay at Nagoya University and two who stay at Lund University in the first year.The language used for education will be English, and as a general rule, I will study at a partner university for 1 months in the second year.While studying abroad, you can receive financial support from the university.
Lund University is a prestigious Swedish university founded in 1666 and has produced four Nobel laureates so far.In addition to producing outstanding research results in the field of neuroscience such as elucidation of Parkinson's disease, it is also considered to be advanced in the application of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) to the medical field.
This is the third time Nagoya University has established a joint degree program, following the University of Adelaide in Australia for the Graduate School of Medicine and the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom for the Graduate School of Science.
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology recommends that Japanese universities and foreign universities establish joint degree programs in response to the progress of globalization.
