In the "Study on Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease NIPPON DATA 2010" by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare research group (designated research), in which Mr. Katsuyuki Miura, the director of the Center for Epidemiologic Research in Asia, Shiga University of Medical Science, serves as the principal investigator, both men and women get older. , It became clear that the time of calm state including watching TV for one day was long. This is the first time that the physical activity time according to the intensity of the general public nationwide, not limited to a specific age group or region or a specific activity time, has been clarified.
In this study, 2010 men and women over the age of 2010 (20 men, 2,883 women, average age 1230) who participated in the 1653 National Health and Nutrition Survey and the "Survey on Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease (NIPPON DATA60.0)" nationwide. A self-administered questionnaire and an interview survey were conducted on the content and time of daily physical activity for women aged 58.0 years.
In the survey, physical activity was classified as intensity (general sports), moderate (housework, etc.), mild (driving a car, bathing, etc.), calm (reading, telephone, etc.), inactive (lying, sleeping, etc.). ).The calm state was further analyzed separately for watching TV and others.
As a result, the average "calm state" was 5.8 hours for men and 5.2 hours for women, of which the average time for watching TV was 3.2 hours for men and 2.7 hours for women. In addition, the time of "calm state" and "inactivity" is longer for both men and women as they get older, and in the 70s, the average time of "calm state" is 7.1 hours for men and 6.1 hours for women, of which the average time for watching TV is It was 3.9 hours for men and 3.3 hours for women.
Few subjects corresponded to "strong physical activity" for both men and women, and the time for moderate and mild physical activity became shorter as both men and women became older.
In recent years, several studies at home and abroad have reported that the longer you stay calm while watching or sitting on TV, the higher your risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease. It is expected that the results of this study will be useful for measures to increase physical activity from the viewpoint of preventing cardiovascular diseases and lifestyle-related diseases in the future.
