On January 2017, 1, Waseda University and Ochanomizu University signed an "Agreement on Cooperation and Cooperation between Ochanomizu University, a national university corporation, and Waseda University, a school corporation."
The distance between the two universities is close to about 1.5 km, and a favorable environment for researchers and students to interact with each other is in place. Therefore, students and faculty members of both universities stimulate each other to develop education and research mutually. Expecting that we will continue, this comprehensive agreement has been realized.
Ochanomizu University is one of the few national women's universities and universities with the mission of fostering global female leaders and featuring specialized education with a small number of students. In April 2016, we launched two new research institutes, "Human Life Innovation Research Institute" and "Human Development Education Science Research Institute", with keywords such as health of children and the elderly, improvement of QOL, human development, and educational science. Under the circumstances, we are proceeding with interdisciplinary research.
On the other hand, Waseda University, as one of the leading private universities in Japan, dramatically improves the quality of education and research through collaboration with industry, government and academia in Japan and overseas, and provides learning opportunities at an international level, providing an educational and research environment and experiential experience. We are strengthening measures to improve human power, such as enhancing activities.
Under this comprehensive agreement, it is expected that collaboration between the Faculty of Science, Ochanomizu University and the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Waseda University will be promoted through joint education and research in the field of science and engineering.Starting with the field of bioinformatics, we will promote cooperation such as unit exchange, research guidance, and joint research that make the best use of mutual human and physical resources, and will greatly contribute to the fields of environment, medical care / health, and next-generation energy. It is believed that it can be done.
