NTT West, DNP, and NTT East have been working to promote the spread and expansion of electronic textbook and teaching material distribution services for universities and other higher education institutions, and to promote the digitization of education required in the corona and after corona eras. We have been working to strengthen cooperation with publishers that provide textbooks and teaching materials, and to expand the effects of collaboration.
And this time, we decided that it is necessary to provide it as a platform service in order to expand the digitization of education to higher education institutions nationwide with higher functionality, reasonably, and at an early stage, and jointly decided that the new company "Co., Ltd." "NTT EDX" will be established.
NTT EDX will provide various services that promote the introduction of ICT in higher education, centered on the electronic textbook and teaching material business, and will support the digitization and efficiency of the operations of publishers and bookstores. NTT West and NTT East have a highly secure and low-latency cloud platform (regional creation cloud) connected to the academic information network (SINET *), a sales system for community-based universities, and utilization of learning data. It plays a role in building a distribution system for textbooks and teaching materials, supporting the digitization and agency of electronic textbooks and teaching materials, providing a textbook selection database, and supporting the development of original teaching materials for teachers.
