A research group led by Professor Takeshi Morimoto of Hyogo College of Medicine conducted a large-scale survey on research integrity targeting 1,100 doctors conducting clinical research nationwide, and found that doctors who are conscious of fair research in their daily activities. Only about half of the respondents received passive education on research integrity.

According to Hyogo College of Medicine, in March, the research group conducted clinical studies excluding case reports in the past five years, targeting 3 doctors aged 5 and over who work in medical institutions with more than 200 beds. We conducted a large-scale survey on integrity.

As a result, 93% of the students attended ethics education on research integrity, but it decreased to 89% when limited to non-university hospitals.77% had a passive motivation to attend, and only 54% were aware of research integrity after attending. In particular, except for university hospitals, 47% of doctors are conscious of research integrity, which is less than half.

In terms of research integrity, more than half were aware of data accuracy, forgery / falsification / scholarly checks, and subject spontaneity, but 36% made appropriate images and 16% made the research organization transparent. Some of them were less conscious, such as staying at.

More than half of the ethical guidelines, clinical research methods, and measures of national ministries and agencies are not aware of measures related to research integrity, and there were conspicuous examples of copying and pasting other papers at the time of writing.

The research group needs to develop a learning program for research integrity, saying that there is a low awareness of research integrity in the background of a series of dissertation frauds.
