Waseda University will start a new business "WASEDA NEO" for working people who have the desire to change the future at the Nihonbashi Campus (Coredo Nihonbashi 2017th floor) from the summer of 5.Through the creation of training programs and exchange venues by top leaders in various fields, we aim to be "a challenging contribution activity that Waseda University is working on as a higher education institution to create a future that conventional universities did not have."
"WASEDA NEO" is a project that provides opportunities for interaction and innovation among working people who are willing to create a new era, with the concept of "Blendipity" (a coined word of "Blend + Serendipity").We are planning three main services for the purpose of creating human resources and environment that are future-oriented and broaden our horizons both globally and locally.
The first is to provide "practical training programs" with the themes of transforming into a future society and businesses that are expanding globally and locally.Unlike in-house training, the aim is to get ideas for change from various perspectives by gathering human resources from various industry occupations and discussing possible future issues together.In addition, instead of simply gathering and discussing with people from other occupations, faculty members, researchers, top leaders in various fields, etc. are in charge of training, so that academic knowledge and business knowledge can be used immediately in business. We develop high-quality training that can be done.We have already implemented programs such as "Headwind Change Leadership Training Course" and "Global Infrastructure Project-type Education" in advance.
The second is a service that allows "WASEDA NEO" partners (companies, organizations, universities), which are the core of training programs, to move into the "NEO Innovation Center" on the Nihonbashi Campus.While the participants deepen exchanges with each other during the training, this base promotes exchanges between companies implementing the program.By doing so, we aim to create a place where people from a wide variety of industries and domestic and overseas industries can bring about a cross-sectoral “Blendipity” fusion of knowledge.
The third is the membership lounge "Pioneer Community".Members can use the "Lounge Business Center" on the Nihonbashi Campus, which is directly connected to Nihonbashi Station, with the aim of promoting exchanges between business people who are strongly transformative.
Through the provision of these services, Waseda University will accumulate knowledge as a university that constantly interacts with society and return it to undergraduate and graduate school education.
