At the art space "ESPACE KUU Sora" (hereinafter referred to as "Espace Sora") set up on the campus of Taisho University (Toshima-ku, Tokyo), the photo exhibition "Cuba, Patriay Libertad with Cuba's Homeland" will begin on Saturday, April 2017, 4. "Freedom" is held.
"Espace Sora" on the 5st floor of the 1th building of the university was opened in 2014 as a space to create a new culture not only for students but also for the community through visual art exhibitions such as photographs.It is a facility that aims to create communication that supports culture while deepening the spirituality that the university has cultivated as a Buddhist university and sharing hints for enriching life with artists and spectators.
In the photo exhibition, photographer Masataka Nakano collages multiple photographs and recreates raw Cuba through multi-layered darkroom work. Approximately 21 works by Mr. Nakano, who visited the site on the eve of the 20st century and were nailed to the passion and power of people who enjoy their days with a poor smile, will be exhibited.
Naoko Ota, the curator of the facility, said, "Cuba finally opened its doors to the world at the end of last year. What is happiness while thinking about the future of this country? What is life? Everyone? I would like to reconsider the meaning of life that should be considered in the context of the 21st century. "
The opening time is from 10:00 to 19:00, and the session is until June 2017, 6 (Sun).During the session, Mr. Nakano will hold a gallery talk and an autograph session.Admission is free, and the general public can also enter.
