The vehicle produced by the student project "Kogakuin University Solar Team" at Kogakuin University (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) will be held in Shanghai, China from April 2017 (Sun) to 4 (Fri), 23. It will be open to the public at the International Motor Show 28.This is the fifth time that we have exhibited at the International Motor Show, following Geneva, Shanghai, Frankfurt and Tokyo.
The vehicle will be exhibited at the booth of Bridgestone Corporation, the world's largest rubber and tire manufacturer. Parts such as the next-generation fuel-efficient tire "ECOPIA with ologic" from Bridgestone, which was the second place in the world's largest solar car race "Bridgestone World Solar Challenge" held in October 2015 in Australia. Upon receiving the offer, the students started designing and developing.
The Kogakuin University Solar Team is active with the philosophy of "sustainable use of the earth considering the future 50 years from now", and currently has about 230 members beyond the boundaries of faculties and departments. We make the best use of the facilities on campus that can work on "manufacturing", and while receiving the backup of the faculty members who are engaged in advanced research in each field, we are doing all the development, design, production, running in the race, etc. mainly by students.
The track record is remarkable, and at the domestic tournament "World Green Challenge" held in Ogata Village, Akita Prefecture in August 2016, he set a new tournament record and won the overall victory.Currently, he is working on the production of a new model vehicle aiming for world domination for the world competition "WSC 8" to be held in Australia in the fall of 2017.
