 According to the survey, 2016 university-launched venture companies were confirmed to exist in the 1,851 survey. This is an increase compared to the 2015 companies confirmed in the 1,773 survey.Of the 247 university-launched venture companies newly identified in this survey, 2016 were newly established in FY58 and were established before March 2015, but 3 were not identified in the previous survey. Company.In addition, 189 university-launched venture companies closed after the 2015 survey.

 Regarding the business stage of university-launched ventures, the percentage of university-launched ventures that turned profitable in the 2015 survey was 55.6%, and that in the 2016 survey was 55.7%, which is almost the same.Regarding the relationship between the classification of university-launched ventures and the type of industry, when looking at university-launched ventures as a whole, the ratio in the fields of biotechnology, healthcare, and medical equipment is as large as about 30%, and in student ventures, the ratio of IT (applications, software). In the collaborative research venture, the ratio in the bio / healthcare / medical equipment field was about 40%, and the ratio in the environmental technology / energy field was about 30%.
