In this project, we focused on one of the guitarist's complaints, the replacement of the strings on the guitar.Based on the opinions of students who are amateur musicians, we observe the string tension and conduct hearings for beginner guitarists such as high school light music departments and amateur musicians.As a result, it was found that many guitarists are stressed because the replacement work is complicated, time-consuming, and requires skill.Then, the students themselves contacted Shimamura Music Co., Ltd. directly.Not only product development, but also price negotiations, naming, sales locations, instruction manuals, promotional videos, etc. were all done by students.
Students also proposed this project to a product development contest in which 2016 universities nationwide participated last year in 20.Although we couldn't win the award, we took half a year to brush up and develop the same product that anyone can replace 6 at the same time in a short time.Since we are particular about the material, we repeatedly conducted trial tests on about 70 guitarists.As a result, we were able to reduce the price (300 yen including tax) by using a corrugated cardboard material instead of a resin material that would damage the strings of the guitar.
Three students who participated in the project commented, "I hope we can increase the number of guitarists with a happy feeling and contribute to the growth of the musical instrument and music industry by resolving the dissatisfaction with this product."In addition, as a new expansion of products, we are also considering crowdfunding in order to support musicians who are aiming to become professionals.
