Chiba University and Yokohama National University have signed an agreement on mutual cooperation and cooperation.Taking advantage of the characteristics of both schools, we will focus on joint research focusing on disaster prevention and mitigation, environmental fields such as mitigation of disaster risk such as typhoons and realization of a carbon-free society.
According to the Yokohama National University, the agreement includes the Environmental Remote Sensing Research Center, which promotes disaster monitoring using satellites from Chiba University, the Disaster Treatment Research Institute for investigating stress diseases caused by disasters, the Graduate School of Horticultural Science, and the wind and flood damage from Yokohama National University. The Typhoon Science and Technology Research Center, the Graduate School of Environmental Information, and the Graduate School of Urban Innovation will play a central role in promoting joint research in the fields of disaster prevention and mitigation by leveraging the strengths of both parties.
Furthermore, the Academic Research and Innovation Promotion Organization of Chiba University and the Institute of Advanced Sciences of Yokohama National University will collaborate to connect the various academic research results of both schools to the creation of new technologies, activation of regional cooperation, and support for venture companies. We aim to contribute to society.
Although specific methods will be finalized in the future, we will consider establishing a new organization and jointly raising funds, and match past research results and personnel with joint research.Given that the cause of frequent storms and floods is thought to be climate change, we will also add themes for the realization of a carbon-free society to the subject of joint research.
