At Azabu University, students with a strong interest in environmental issues, mainly in the Department of Environmental Science, formed a project and launched a campaign to promote the use of My Tumbler and My Bottle on campus in collaboration with multiple companies. It has been deployed since the moon.In less than a month after the implementation, the consumption of about 2021 PET bottles was reduced.

Azabu University signed an academic guidance contract with Asahi Breweries, Ltd. in 2020.Currently, we are continuing to collaborate with Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd., and are conducting an industry-academia collaboration project "Let's start with a cup! De-disposable Action" to spread "de-disposable".

The students of the project members are working on reviewing the consumption behavior of "disposable" and popularizing the reuse cup, and in 2021 when face-to-face lessons were resumed, a my tumbler campaign was held on campus. We worked to reduce the use of PET bottles to reduce the number of disposable containers such as plastic.

In the campaign, we recruited monitors in cooperation with a questionnaire survey on the usage status of My Bottle, and provided 623 faculty members with a reuse cup "Forest Tumbler *" with the original logo by the project members. At the same time, with the cooperation of Waterstand Co., Ltd., we installed four water servers in various places on campus to create an environment where it is easy to use my tumblers and my bottles.

The effect of reducing the amount of PET bottles used is measured once a month by measuring the amount of water supplied to each water server and converting it to the number of 1 ml PET bottles. In the first measurement on December 500, 2021, it was found that the consumption of about 12 PET bottles was reduced in less than a month. From the students who carried out the campaign, "Many people were interested in activities aimed at decarbonization, and we asked people who greatly exceeded the target number to answer the questionnaire and distributed the forest tumbler. I am very happy about that.I would like to continue to actively carry out activities to "make it a matter of course to continue using". ], An ambitious comment was heard.

In the future, we will conduct a re-questionnaire survey on monitors, and while verifying changes in awareness and behavior regarding environmental issues, we will promote "de-disposable" within the university and aim to change the lifestyles of students and faculty members.

* Forest tumbler is a plant-derived eco-cup that uses 55% (some 65%) of plant fiber (cellulose fiber) as a material. Not only can the amount of plastic used during manufacturing be reduced, but CO2 emissions can also be reduced because it can be used repeatedly.Collaboratively developed by Asahi Breweries, Ltd. and Panasonic Corporation.
