Otemon Gakuin University will expand "online study abroad" as a regular subject as part of the "OIDAI DX Promotion Plan", which was also selected by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as a "university / technical college education advancement plan".
Otemon Gakuin University has signed the first agreement on "Online Learning (Penn LPS Online)" with the University of Pennsylvania (Penn LPS), one of the Ivy League schools, one of the most prestigious private university associations in the United States.Under this agreement, students will be able to take elective courses from the approximately 1 regular courses in the humanities and sociology offered by "Penn LPS" without traveling, and receive credits.
We are considering an upper limit of 10 to 20 credits to be accredited, and we plan to expand the number of students who can take this course to other faculties, including students from the International Faculty, which will open in April 2022.
In addition, we will issue a "digital badge" stipulated by international technical standards, which will certify the ability universally according to the study history of the field for which credits have been granted, and recurrent education for working adults and business people. Aim to build a mechanism to provide "Penn LPS Online".
In addition to this agreement, we have concluded agreements on "study abroad online" with the University of California, Berkeley Summer Session and the University of Hawaii at Manoa Outreach College / Summer Session, and will develop similar efforts.
