Despite the intention to marry in the Japanese marriage market, 848 million women and 983 million men are unmarried, and about 134 million men are left over nationwide at the University of Tokyo Graduate School. It was revealed in a survey of the Department of International Health Policy, Graduate School of Medicine.

According to the University of Tokyo, the Department of International Health Policy uses the 2015 Basic Survey on Birth Trends conducted by the National Institute of Population and Social Security Research to identify the characteristics of unmarried Japanese who have a desire to marry and what they are to marry. Was analyzed.

As a result, among women aged 2015-18 years old, 49 million were married, 1,236 million were unmarried, and 848 million were unmarried. In contrast, men of the same age group were 196 million married, 1,095 million unmarried, and 983 million unmarried.

Compared to unmarried people who are willing to get married, there are about 134 million men nationwide. In non-overcrowded areas and the Kanto region, where the number of men in this age group is higher than that of women, a total of about 60 men are left over.

Females (ages 18-49) are more likely to marry the lowest and highest income groups, with the highest marriage rate (77%) being undergraduate females and the lowest marriage rate. Those who graduated from high school or younger (69%) and graduated from graduate school (64%).

Men were found to have a proportional relationship between income and marriage.Among men with an annual income of 700 million yen or more, 84% (24-39 years old) and 92% (40-49 years old) are married or even unmarried, the percentage of those who are willing to marry has increased. On the other hand, unemployed men and part-time men were more likely than regular-employed men to have no intention of getting married. In terms of education level, the higher the education level, the higher the proportion of men (40-49 years old) who are married.

Women often seek men with higher income or academic background than themselves, and in order for women to achieve that, there are 500 women for each man with an annual income of less than 1 million yen, and the annual income is 2.5 million. It is calculated that 700 women think that one man over the yen will meet his wishes.
