Tsuchiya / Ito Laboratory, Department of Aerospace Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo, NABLA Mobility Co., Ltd., and Peach Aviation Co., Ltd. will start efforts to reduce the environmental load of aircraft operations through industry-academia collaboration.

While carbon neutrality is being promoted worldwide, CO2 reduction in the aviation field (the status of CO3 reduction efforts in the aviation field of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in FY2) is drawing attention in Japan as well.In this initiative, the University of Tokyo and NABLA will make proposals to reduce the environmental burden by utilizing their respective strengths based on Peach's flight data.

One of them is to improve the efficiency of operations. Based on Peach's flight data, etc., utilizing the research and development of Tsuchiya / Ito Laboratory and the data analysis method of NABLA, from takeoff to cruising to landing centered on Kansai Airport, which is Peach's main airport. Optimize the flight trajectory of the aircraft in each section.

While Peach, Japan's first LCC and aiming to become a leading LCC in Asia, is actively pursuing the possibility of decarbonization in the aviation field, through this collaboration, a product related to drastic decarbonization expected from the aviation industry. Accelerate development and implementation of measures through industry-academia collaboration.

The Tsuchiya / Ito Laboratory, Department of Aerospace Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo, is a laboratory that conducts research to create a mechanism for air traffic management in which humans and aircraft cooperate to protect the environment, including flight dynamics control of aircraft and spacecraft. ..As part of its research activities, we are proceeding with research and development aimed at realizing eco-friendly flights that reduce aircraft fuel consumption and reduce CO2 emissions.

NABLA Mobility is a start-up company established in April 2021 that provides solutions that contribute to improving the efficiency of the aircraft industry and decarbonizing the entire planet by utilizing all data related to AI and aircraft operations.

Peach began operations at Kansai Airport in March 2012.With seven base airports in New Chitose, Sendai, Narita, Chubu, Kansai, Fukuoka, and Naha, it operates 3 domestic routes and 7 international routes.
