LINE Research, operated by LINE Corporation, targets men and women between the ages of 18 and 24 nationwide, focusing on new university students who will go on to university from April 2022 and new members of society who will find employment. I investigated what I wanted to do, what I was preparing for, and what I was worried about.

When I asked the new university students how much they expected for the new year, less than 5% of the respondents said that "expectations are stronger", which is a combination of "full expectations" and "both expectations and anxieties, but stronger expectations". So, it was the highest ratio in the last two years. In particular, the percentage of "full expectations" increased by 2 points from last year to 5%.

When asked what they are concerned about in their new life, the new college students who answered "I feel anxious", "Is it possible to make new friends?" "Study and assignments seem to be difficult." Was ranked high at 5-6%.The percentage of items that were higher than before was about half, with "anxiety about keeping up with the class level" increased by 10 points from last year.In addition, more than 6% of the respondents said that "study and assignments seem to be difficult", and anxiety about study-related matters is on the rise.On the other hand, as for the items whose ratio has decreased compared to before, "Can I find a part-time job / internship" decreased by 16 points from last year, and "Can I get used to online classes" also decreased by 11 points from last year. ..

Next, when asked what they wanted to do in the new year, "study," "making friends and connections," and "part-time job" became the top three, and even when viewed in chronological order from 3, there was no change in the ranking. However, "making friends and making connections" has been on a downward trend year by year, down from 2020% last year to 55%.On the other hand, "study" and "savings" have been on a slight upward trend since last year.In terms of "self-polishing (appearance / inside)", it has been flat since last year and has not changed, but compared to two years ago, it increased by 50 points to just under 2%.

In "Self-polishing (appearance / inside)", which showed an upward trend, the difference between men and women was remarkable, and it was as high as less than 3% for men and less than 5% for women. On the other hand, "club activities / club activities" are higher for men than for women, exceeding 3%.In addition, although not ranked high, males also had a higher percentage of "increasing income / assets (including investment)".
