Of the university and graduate school job hunting students who failed the internship pre-selection, more than 4% have canceled the application for the final selection, which is the website of Media Management Profuture (President Kosuke Terazawa, Tokyo). It became clear in the questionnaire.
The web questionnaire was conducted in June and for university and graduate students scheduled to graduate in March 6, and valid responses were obtained from 2018 people (3 people in the humanities and 2,513 people in the sciences) nationwide.
According to the report, internship participation slots are often narrowed down by entry sheets, aptitude tests, interviews, etc., but more than 6% of the students who answered the questionnaire experienced a loss in both humanities and science.
When asked about changes in their aspirations to students who had failed in the internship pre-selection, 58% of the humanities and 65% of the sciences answered that they would not change. There were a few students who answered that their aspirations had increased, but 3-4% of the students answered that their aspirations had decreased.
When it was confirmed whether the students who were rejected in the internship pre-selection applied for the final selection, more than 4% of both humanities and sciences answered that they did not apply (have no intention of doing so).It seems that some of these students have received a job offer from another company, but ProFuture believes that "if you neglect to take care of students who fail the internship pre-selection, there is a risk of reducing the number of applicants."
