Sophia University and Keio University will hold the "Ukraine Peace Symposium" for current students on April 2022, 4 (Friday) in response to the current situation in Ukraine.
The symposium is a two-part system, with the theme of "How to View the Ukrainian Problem" in the first part, "The Perspective of International Law Researchers," "The Perspective of Former Soviet Union Regional Researchers," "The Perspective of Security Researchers," and " Researchers from both universities will hold talk sessions from the four perspectives of "peace arbitration and peacebuilding researchers' perspectives," and Nacken Koito, Chief Deputy Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Japan. He is planning a special talk "About the actual situation of refugee support".
In the second part, students from both universities will hold a panel discussion on the theme of "What can be done to build peace and prevent military conflicts" with Yoshiaki Terumichi, President of Sophia University, and Kohei Itoh, President of Keio University.
Participants in the symposium are students, students, faculty and staff of Sophia University, Keio University and related schools of both universities, and students belonging to other high schools.Based on the purpose of the symposium centered on students, graduates and general participation are excluded.From the perspective of preventing the spread of new coronavirus infection, we will simultaneously deliver face-to-face at Sophia University Yotsuya Campus and online by zoom webinar.
