A research group led by Dr. Atsushi Kaneko of the Graduate School of Data Science, Yokohama City University analyzed the medical institution consultation status of elderly people aged 75 and over using the Yokohama City database. It was found that the number of nursing care services will increase 2050 times and the number of home care services will increase 1.4 times.

According to Yokohama City University, the research group, in collaboration with the Yokohama City Medical Policy Division, is a citizen aged 2018 and over who had a resident card in Yokohama City from April 4, 1 to March 2019, 3, and is a late-stage elderly person. We investigated the status of medical and nursing care services from medical receipt (medical receipt statement) data for all approximately 31 members of the Medical Wide Area Union and welfare recipients.

As a result, it was found that the number of outpatient visits is less for those aged 90 and over than for those aged 75 to 89, but the number of emergency room consultations, hospitalizations, home-visit medical care, and outpatient / home care services is high.Although the welfare recipients received less outpatient visits to the clinic than those who did not receive the benefits, they had more outpatient visits to hospitals, emergency room visits, inpatients, and home visits.

From these figures, we picked out the people who received medical services and long-term care services by type and applied them to the population composition predicted in 2050. It became clear that it would increase to.

Although there are signs that the population concentration in Tokyo will be stopped by the corona disaster, the migration to urban areas is still continuing. While the number of late-stage elderly living in metropolitan areas is increasing, these data are likely to be important indicators for local governments to promote future medical policies.
