Nagoya University of Commerce (Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture) will hold a briefing session for the "City Center Course" on Saturday, September 2017, 9 at the Nagoya Campus.Participants attended an active learning experience class by Associate Professor Kazuhiro Takino of Financial Economics.Learn the essence of financial theory while discussing the price of goods.

The Nagoya University of Commerce "City Center Course" was established in the Faculty of Business Administration and the Faculty of Commerce in April 2016, and introduced an active learning education program. We are aiming to develop "frontier human resources" who can break away from the traditional university education centered on classroom lectures, acquire practical skills in business, and propose their own ideas to society. In addition, we have adopted three learning methods: "group discussion," "experience for yourself," and "teach others."This method is said to have a higher learning retention rate than conventional classroom lectures.

In the active learning lecture, we analyze the cases of more than 100 companies a year, such as Amazon and McDonald's Japan.Using the management issues in the field of the company as an example, the students themselves are cultivating the ability to think and solve. In addition, the "city center type course" does not carry out regular examinations, and the degree of contribution to active learning, such as lecture preparation, remarks, and reports, is subject to grade evaluation.

The next briefing session will be held on Saturday, September 2017, 9 at the Nagoya Campus. A hands-on lesson by Takashi Kitamura, a lecturer on comparative constitutional policy, will be held under the theme of "thinking about which of the two conflicting companies the student will meet as if he were a politician."In addition, we also hold consultation meetings for current students regarding student life, internships, and points for entrance examinations.Apply from the website of Nagoya University of Commerce.
