According to a survey by the Japan Association of Private Universities, nearly half of Japanese private universities are preparing and considering acceptance of Ukrainian students who are unable to live their student lives due to the Russian military invasion.There are 17 private universities, which account for 17% of the total, who decide to accept or adjust for the final decision.

 According to the Japan Association of Private Universities, the survey interviewed 123 member schools as of the end of April, and received responses from 4 of them.
Regarding the acceptance of Ukrainian students, 8 schools have been decided, 9 schools are adjusting for the final decision, and 30 schools are preparing and considering.The remaining 53 schools had no plans, and it was revealed that almost half of the universities are positive about some kind of response.

 Although the name of the host school is not mentioned in the survey, Ryukoku University in Kyoto Prefecture, Kyoto University of Advanced Science, and Japan University of Economics in Fukuoka Prefecture are accepting it.The Japan Association of Private Universities reported the survey results to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and requested that they support the efforts of each university.
