Kyoto University has begun recruiting new students for the hands-on science course "ELCAS" for high school students, which is being held as part of high school connection and high school collaboration activities. The course is scheduled to start in August 2022, and a wide range of courses such as space, genes, and pharmacy are planned.

 According to Kyoto University, there are three types of lectures: lecture type A, which combines face-to-face lessons and online lessons, face-to-face lecture type B, and practice type.Lecture type A will be held on August 3 and 8, and lecture type B will be held on August 20, 24 and 8 at the International Exchange Hall of the Clock Tower Centennial Memorial Hall.The exercise type will be held from August 20 to 24, depending on the course, for 25 to 3 days at the Yoshida Campus and other designated places.

 Lecture type A is 3 lectures such as "Introduction to Chinese Classical Studies" and "Einstein's Third Dream".Lecture type B has 10 lectures, "Thinking about'thinking'", "The future of the genome era you create", and "Thinking about an evacuation plan that you can really evacuate!" We are planning 3 lectures such as "Learn how to see".

 Participants are 1st and 2nd grades of high school nationwide, and 4th and 5th grades of the second half of secondary school.The capacity is 100 for each course of lecture type A (including 30 for face-to-face lessons), 5 for each lecture for lecture type B, and 1 to 5 for each lecture for exercise type.Those who wish to take the course should register using the web registration form on the Kyoto University website and mail the application documents.For details, please check the holding guidelines for each course.

 Lecture type B and exercise type will be selected based on the application documents, and successful applicants will be announced on July 7st on the high school-university cooperation / admissions public relations portal site.Lecture type A will be closed as soon as the capacity is reached.
