The vehicle "OWL" produced in 2015 by the student project "Kogakuin University Solar Team" of Kogakuin University (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) will be held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto-ku, Tokyo). Appeared in "45th Tokyo Motor Show 2017". It is on display at the Bridgestone booth from October 2017th to November 10th, 25.
The team's third machine, "OWL," won second place in the cruiser class of the world's largest solar car race "3 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge" held in Australia in October 2015.The following year, in August 10, at the domestic tournament "World Green Challenge 2015" held in Ogata Village, Akita Prefecture, he set a new tournament record and won the overall victory.
The Kogakuin University Solar Team participated in the "2017 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge" held in Australia from October 10th to 8th, 15. Participated in the Challenger class with "Wing" produced as Unit 2017.As a result, in the harsh race of 4 teams out of 27 entry teams, they completed 12km on the Australian continent and finished 3,021th in the class (7nd in the Japanese team).
Both Unit 3 "OWL" and Unit 4 "Wing" are provided with next-generation fuel-efficient tires "ECOPIA with ologic" by Bridgestone, the world's largest rubber and tire manufacturer.With the support of many companies, the project allows students to build solar cars while making the most of the faculty and campus facilities that are the research resources of the university.Students take the initiative in all activities such as driver, vehicle maintenance, and media support, as well as vehicle production.
