Waseda University will open a business school in the IoT field on the Nihonbashi campus in Tokyo from 2018.As we enter the ultra-smart era, we aim to develop international leaders in the IoT field, with the goal of developing 4 human resources over the next four years.
According to Waseda University, the program was organized by Professor Hironori Washizaki of the Advanced ICT Infrastructure Research Institute, Waseda University Faculty of Science and Engineering.We offer 16 systematic lessons in the fields of AI (artificial intelligence), IoT, and big data necessary for the realization of an ultra-smart society, and internationally innovate by connecting cross-disciplinary combinations, technologies, and businesses through case studies. Foster human resources who can lead the way.
With the cooperation of 13 collaborative universities such as Osaka University and Kyushu University, which have an industry-academia network with Waseda University, 2 cooperating universities such as Ritsumeikan University, and 21 companies and industry groups such as Hitachi, Yahoo, and Computer Software Association.The project cost will be 4 million yen, and an IoT room will be set up on the Nihonbashi campus by the time the course starts.
Qualifications are those who have practical experience in information technology and have passed the entrance examination that asks basic knowledge of AI, IoT, big data, etc. based on the intermediate level of the IoT system technology qualification examination of the Mobile Computing Promotion Consortium.
Classes will be held on weekday nights and Saturdays to make it easier for working adults to relearn, and the optimal course model will be presented according to the students' goals.The company is also considering expanding some online classes and teaching materials nationwide.
