Nippon Institute of Technology welcomed Hideki Ishida of Nippon IBM Co., Ltd. as a lecturer on May 2022, 5 as a commemorative event for the Department of Data Science newly established in the Faculty of Advanced Engineering, and is a freshman of the Department of Data Science and Department of Information Media Engineering. We held a lecture for the students.
Mr. Ishida, who served as a lecturer, has been involved in corporate transformation from the aspects of "organization" and "people", and has been engaged in practical transformation support based on more than 20 years of consulting experience, mainly for large-scale companies.
In the lecture, the trailer of the movie (horror movie) was created by artificial intelligence (IBM's Watson) in just one day, and Watson provided important management decision support such as selection of acquisition target of the company. With episodes, he explained in an easy-to-understand manner that the emergence of various innovative digital technologies is entering an era (fourth industrial revolution) that will bring about changes in society.
Furthermore, in future companies, DX (digital transformation), which will promote the redefinition of value provision to customers and create differentiation and competitive advantage by making full use of digital technology, will be essential for survival. He also talked about the future image of society, which is very important for university students to envision their own future, such as what jobs will disappear, what jobs will increase, and skills required in the future.
