Tokyo City University will hold an "Open Mission" from 2022 in addition to the "Open Campus" event for high school students. The first inquiry work was carried out on Sunday, June 1, 2022, and about 6 high school students participated.

The "Open Campus" is a festival-type event that can be completed in one day, such as high school students visiting the facilities and equipment of the university and receiving explanations on the contents of education and research, while the "Open Mission" is about as an exploratory learning event. Requires a period of 1 months.

Participants in the "Open Mission" can register for the theme of interest from the inquiry theme presented on the university homepage (there is a limit on the number of people). On June 6th (Sun), I brought my own report based on the mission (task) video, and conducted group work for each theme and experiments using university research equipment. It was a valuable opportunity to receive direct guidance from university faculty members, and the university students who acted as assistants also played an active role in alleviating the tensions of the participants.

The inquiry work will continue in the future, and we will dig deeper from here according to the lecture from the instructor in charge, and finally we will announce the final result again on August 8 (Tuesday).Participants will be able to freely use the university library during this period, receive appropriate advice from the faculty members in charge, and exchange opinions among participants depending on the theme.

Behind the planning of this "Open Mission" by Tokyo City University is the change in learning at high school, such as the introduction of "Time for Comprehensive Inquiry" by revising the curriculum guidelines for high schools. The high school side has expectations for university resources for the keyword "inquiry," and it can be said that this is a program that quickly responded to this.

From science and engineering type themes such as "Let's innovate with drones", "Polymer materials for next-generation power storage and power generation devices", and "Search for planets with life outside the earth", which seems to be a university whose predecessor is Musashi Institute of Technology. "Thinking about business development of Japanese products and services toward the world" by the "Faculty of Design and Data Science" newly established (under planning) in 2023, and "Let's explore the" uniqueness "of the town" In 2022, we will develop "OPEN MISSION" with all 17 themes up to the fusion type.
