For high school students and graduates who have developmental disabilities and wish to go on to university at the Kawauchi Kita Campus in Kawauchi, Aoba-ku, Sendai.Explain the difference between high school and university and the support system after going on to school.
According to Tohoku University, the program runs from 9:50 am to 3:10 pm.In addition to explaining the differences between high school and university, the support system after entering university, the outline of student life, etc. in a mock class, various contents such as listening to the experiences of active students in a roundtable discussion.Individual consultation meetings will also be held for those who wish.
Participation is free, and the maximum number of participants is 10 on a first-come, first-served basis.High school students and graduates with developmental disabilities who wish to go to a university other than Tohoku University can also take this course.Applications for participation will be accepted until July 7 using the application form on the Tohoku University website.After applying for participation, you will receive an e-mail from the Special Needs Office of the Tohoku University Student Counseling and Special Needs Center to confirm your participation.
Students with developmental disabilities often struggle because they are confused by the various new experiences at the university and are not asked for the necessary support.For this reason, Tohoku University held a university preparatory course in 2021 to provide a place for high school students with developmental disabilities to resolve their doubts, and it was well received, so we decided to continue holding it.
