Tokyo Institute of Technology has decided to move its affiliated high school of science and technology from the Tamachi Campus in Shibaura, Minato Ward, to the Ookayama Campus in Ookayama, Meguro Ward, Tokyo. The new school building will be completed in the 10 academic year and will be put into use in the 2025 academic year.
According to Tokyo Institute of Technology, the new school building has a total floor area of about 1 square meters. It will be built on the premises of Ookayama Campus, which is located north of Midorigaoka Station on the Tokyu Oimachi Line. After the relocation, the high school and the university will strengthen their ties more than ever, making it easier for affiliated high school students to access university faculty and laboratories, and opening up a new era of science and engineering education.
In 2018, the Tokyo Institute of Technology was designated as a designated national university corporation by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.Since the site for this project includes the attached Science and Technology High School, we decided to move to the Ookayama Campus.
Affiliated Science and Technology High School was established in 1886.Currently, there are about 600 students and about 65 faculty members.Construction work will begin after dismantling the existing facilities on the site, and after completion, preparations for relocation will be made in preparation for the start of use of the new school building in 2026.
