According to the council, high-quality internships that involve work experience are "general-purpose ability/specialty utilization type internships" and "highly specialized type internships."There are short term (5 days or more) and long term (2 weeks or more) types of internships for general ability/expertise utilization, and more than half of the participation period is devoted to work experience.There are job-type internships lasting two months or more and those for master's students, and work experience is required.
The government also supports the implementation of these internships, and in June, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry revised the three-ministry agreement to promote internships.
