The research group of Professor Hirohito Sone of the Department of Blood, Endocrinology, and Metabolism, Graduate School of Medicine and Dentistry, Niigata University and Agano City, Niigata Prefecture, are joint research targeting junior high school students in the city, and junior high school students with low cardiopulmonary endurance and muscular strength. Then, it was clarified that the possibility of having a metabolic abnormality risk (= lifestyle-related disease or metabo tendency) is synergistically increased.

Metabolic disorders in adolescence such as junior high school students are often carried over to adults and later, and since they promote arteriosclerosis in the future, early detection and lifestyle improvement are desired. However, this generation has no chance to undergo a medical examination including blood tests and blood pressure measurements, so it is currently left undiscovered.
Therefore, Niigata University School of Medicine and Agano City, Niigata Prefecture are implementing a lifestyle-related disease prevention project for junior high school students, and are conducting health examinations including blood tests and blood pressure measurements and lifestyle-related surveys for second-year junior high school students.

This time, we analyzed the results of the physical fitness test and the medical examination results of 13 people (14 boys and 993 girls) aged 523 to 470 who agreed to the study after undergoing the city's medical examination and physical fitness test.As a result, those with low cardiopulmonary endurance (20m shuttle run performance) and upper limb muscle strength (grip strength performance) are statistically significantly and synergistically about 4.3 times more likely to have metabolic abnormalities than those with both high. Turned out to be expensive.
It was also confirmed that even those with low muscle strength do not have a significantly increased risk of metabolic disorders compared to those with high cardiopulmonary endurance and muscle strength unless the cardiopulmonary endurance is also low.
Among the risks of metabolic disorders, BMI, which is an index of obesity, is significantly higher when cardiopulmonary endurance, upper limb muscle strength, and lower limb muscle strength are low, and blood pressure and non-HDL-C (good cholesterol level from total cholesterol level) are obtained. (Subtracted value) was significantly higher when cardiopulmonary endurance was low.

From these results, it was pointed out that junior high school students with low cardiopulmonary endurance and muscular strength have a high risk of metabolic disorders, and it is necessary to give guidance that strongly recommends exercise.
