 The Global Entrepreneur Development Promotion Project (EDGE Program) aims to revitalize the creation of innovation in Japan by establishing ventures based on the results of research and development at universities, etc., and developing human resources to promote the creation of new businesses by existing companies. The purpose is to form an innovation ecosystem by related parties and organizations.

 In the ex-post evaluation results, the highest evaluation "S (initiatives beyond the intended plan)" was given to the three institutions of the University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, and Waseda University.

 The University of Tokyo's "University of Tokyo Global Innovation Human Resource Development Promotion Project" invites organizations and lecturers with cutting-edge knowledge from home and abroad to provide global-level innovation education and entrepreneurship (entrepreneurship) education.The number of participants has a track record of 579, which greatly exceeds the requirements, and 9% of the participants are graduate students and young researchers, who have achieved results in terms of starting up ventures based on the research results of universities and the like. Things were highly evaluated.

 At Kyoto University's GTEP (Global Technology Entrepreneurship Program), courses are set according to difficulty level according to the level of commitment of the students.Build an educational program consisting of four modules from the entry level to the stage where you actually want to start a business.4 entrepreneurs and new businesses were created from the participants.Half of them utilized the research results of the university, and it was highly evaluated that the program for considering cooperation with individual companies and entrepreneurship worked practically.

 In Waseda University's "WASEDA-EDGE Human Resources Development Program," the entire university set up a social design studio "Kyosokan" that integrates literacy and science, and worked to develop human resources with a commercialization mindset.The curriculum was implemented in collaboration with many private companies, related organizations, domestic and overseas universities, etc., and it became an open program with many participants from working people and other universities. It was highly evaluated.In addition, "Kyosokan" is effective as a place to promote interaction.There were eight cases of entrepreneurship, and there were cases of successful financing from venture capital, which was also an evaluation point.
