From January 2023, 1, Gunma University, NTT East Japan, medical device Yuyama, IT system Uru Systems, and medical device PHC will build a local 30G environment at Gunma University Hospital in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture, and use AI (artificial (Intelligence) and an autonomous running robot equipped with an automatic drug recognition device, confirming the medicines brought by inpatients, delivering prescription medicines, and verifying medication compliance.
According to NTT East, the purpose of the demonstration experiment is to respond to the increase in the types of drugs that are the cause of medical accidents, and to use AI technology to support patients. The robot is equipped with two cameras, upper and lower, and the captured images are sent to the analysis server in real time, and AI judges whether there are any mistakes.
In addition, since medical sites have many people and special equipment coming and going, and there are many shields, we will build a local 5G environment in the hospital where radio waves are less likely to interfere. Build a system that can identify distribution channels.
Patient support by robots is expected not only to prevent medical accidents, but also to reduce the burden on medical staff, who are faced with the problem of increased workload. The demonstration experiment is until March 3th. NTT East oversees the project, Gunma University provides the experiment site, Yuyama provides the drug identification system, Uru Systems develops and provides image recognition solutions, and PHC is in charge of collaboration with out-of-hospital pharmacies.
