In 2017, a university-wide selection voluntary research result presentation of the "Osaka University Future Fund Undergraduate Student Voluntary Research Encouragement Project" was held at the Osaka University Hall Assembly Hall, and 10 groups selected from each faculty announced their results.

 According to Osaka University, the project started in 2015 with the aim of instilling students in the consciousness of learning by themselves, and at the same time, developing the qualities to see the essence of things and developing human resources who can play an active role in the global society. In 2017, all 11 faculties of Osaka University solicited research in a wide range of fields beyond the boundaries of the faculties, and a total of 39 studies were adopted.

 The selected students will proceed with their own research during the research period from July to the end of December, and submit a research result report. Independent research results presentations for each faculty were held from January to February, and a total of 7 groups selected for the best research proceeded to the university-wide selection independent research results presentations.
