On Sunday, March 2023, 3, Kyoto University will hold an event "Kyoto University Faculty of Science Information" for female high school students who are interested in the Faculty of Science.Lectures to introduce four cutting-edge researches on the theme of space and biology, and consultation sessions to hear about university life from female seniors will be held twice in the morning and afternoon.
In the space-related lectures, Mr. Takeshi Hashigaya will introduce the cutting edge of telescope development, "The Cutting Edge of Telescope Development," and Mr. Hiroki Takeda will introduce the mysterious appearance of the universe governed by gravity as seen from "gravity waves." "Let's look into the mystery of the universe with gravity".
The lecture on biology focused on duckweed, which is said to bloom at the optimum timing for survival. Tomoyo Ikeda is in charge of "Pinch! How do cells deal with it?"
After the lecture, a time will be set up as a “college consultation meeting” where students can discuss university life at the Kyoto University Faculty of Science.
The venue is the Seminar House of the Graduate School of Science on the Yoshida Campus (Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City).The same lecture will be held twice, from 10:12 to 30:14 and from 16:30 to 2:60, each with a capacity of 2023 people on a first-come, first-served basis.There is no membership fee.Those wishing to participate must apply using the dedicated form by February 2, 22 (Wednesday).
