In the enPiT-Pro Program* supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Waseda University represented the recurrent program "Smart SE: Smart System & Service Technology." Innovative human resource development through industry-academia collaboration” received the highest S rating in the post-evaluation following the mid-term evaluation.Smart SE was the only selected project organization to receive an S rating for both.
Smart SE is a program in which front-line educators, researchers, and practitioners of universities and companies centered on Waseda University develop innovative & DX human resources who will lead the super smart society internationally. In addition to the "IoT/AI course" that has been offered since 2018, the "DX course" will be newly offered in 2022, and a total of more than 100 graduates have been produced.
The feature of Smart SE is that it enables systematic learning in all areas from business to sensors through practical exercises using systematic theories accumulated by Waseda University and partner universities and abundant case studies of companies.In addition, emphasizing the ease of taking courses for working people, we have built a system that allows online taking and review of all lectures.In exercises with experiments, you can choose between online and face-to-face, and the number of students outside the Tokyo metropolitan area is increasing.
For points that received an "S rating", we have built a nationwide network in cooperation with 14 member universities and more than 30 companies and organizations, and have developed and provided a wide range of educational programs from communication and physics to business. In addition, the instructors provide one-on-one guidance on the completion of the course, and the quality of learning is guaranteed through fair examination by other instructors. and providing free online courses on JMOOC, with a total of more than 1 people enrolling in the course over four years.

* The enPiT-Pro program is a systematic, advanced, short-term practical education program centered on the field of information science and technology that is developed and implemented in cooperation with industry and multiple universities, and the results are widely disseminated nationwide. This is an effort by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology to support graduate school reform efforts that aim to contribute to strengthening the re-learning function of working adults in the same field as a whole in Japan. It started in 2016 as a successor to the enPiT program implemented in 2017.
