The New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization, a national research and development corporation, has announced that it has started a new research and development project for the early social implementation of AI technology and has adopted six research and development themes.
In this project, two R & D items are set: "R & D and demonstration for social implementation of artificial intelligence technology" and "R & D to expand the application area of artificial intelligence technology". While demonstrating that the introduction period of next-generation AI technology in priority fields such as "productivity" and "movement of space" will be shortened to one-tenth of the conventional period, the application area of AI technology will be expanded and human ideas will be expanded. Aim to establish common basic technology that supports creativity.
The themes adopted are "Detection and specific speeding up of gas leaks in plant maintenance by utilizing AI, and expansion of the scope of detectable gas" by Konica Minolta Co., Ltd. and Kobe University, Tohoku University, Waseda University, Sato Co., Ltd. "Research and development on automation of sediment transportation at local small and medium-sized construction sites utilizing robot technology and artificial intelligence" by a construction company, "Artificial intelligence technology" by Hitachi, Ltd., the University of Tokyo, and the National Research and Development Corporation Industrial Technology Research Institute Research and development on social implementation in windmills.
We will promote these with an agile development method (a method of repeating short development period units to improve the degree of perfection), accelerate the social implementation of AI technology, and lead to the acquisition of the global market.In addition, it hopes to save energy and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by further improving productivity, which cannot be achieved by conventional human management.
