The Japan-U.S. Board of Education (Fulbright Japan) has started accepting applications for the 2024 Fulbright Scholars, a grant-type study abroad scholarship program offered by the Japanese and U.S. governments.

 The purpose of the Fulbright Scholarship Program is to provide scholars with financial support to pursue research in their respective fields of specialization, and to develop leaders who can contribute in some way to mutual understanding between Japan and the United States.Many of our alumni, known as Fulbrighters, are active in various fields such as education, government, legal profession, business, and mass media. By actively participating in the various activities of , it is expected that they will further spread their knowledge of both countries.

 There are four types of scholarship programs to be recruited this time: "Graduate School Study Abroad Program", "Graduate School Doctoral Dissertation Research Program", "Researcher Program", and "Journalist Program". Each program has different eligibility requirements and benefits.The academic fields covered are U.S. studies, Japan-U.S. relations in the Indo-Pacific region, issues of contemporary society, issues of global society, and education.In the case of research plans related to the fields of natural and applied sciences, only interdisciplinary research focused on the fields of humanities and social sciences and related to policy, society, or ethics is eligible for application.

 The application method is online only, and the application period is from 2023:3 on March 15, 12 to 00:5 on May 15, 23.After document screening and interview screening, the selection results will be announced around November.You can check the details (web version) of each scholarship program to be recruited on the website.
