Tokyo Gakugei University and Mistletoe Co., Ltd. have signed a comprehensive business agreement to build Japan's first nationwide base for promoting "open innovation in public education." The two companies will jointly establish a new organization within 2018, and will open the "Educational Incubation Center (tentative name)", which is the first educational university in Japan to operate through industry-academia collaboration, in the spring of 2019.
Mistletoe is an entrepreneurial support company founded by Taizo Son, a Japanese serial entrepreneur and venture investor. Mistletoe will build the facility that will serve as the base for the "Educational Incubation Center (tentative name)" on the campus of Tokyo Gakugei University.Both have set up the "Educational Future (Educational Innovation) Club" as a platform that serves as a bridge between educational sites, students and large companies, and startups.
