Ryukoku University will hold a full-time English course to study the criminal justice system in Japan from October 2018, 10 for a total of eight days.

"Criminology" (English: Criminology) is a discipline that aims to scientifically elucidate matters related to crime and contribute to crime countermeasures.Currently, academic and research fields have been established as "Faculty of Crime" at general universities in Western countries.Meanwhile, the judicial system and criminal policy surrounding crimes in Japanese society, which has the lowest number of crimes recognized in the world statistically and is considered safe and secure, are attracting attention from all over the world.

At Ryukoku University, the Criminal Science Research Center was established in June 2016 to clarify criminal phenomena from the perspectives of human science, social science, and natural science, and to build rational crime countermeasures based on interpersonal support. In November of the same year, it was adopted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology "Private University Research Branding Project".Since then, through the efforts of the center, we have established "Tatsuya Criminology" based on crime prevention and interpersonal support, and aim to appeal to the world as well as Japan.

This time, the Criminology Research Center will hold a course in English from October 2018, 10 to 13 days (8 frames in total) based on the research results to date.Aiming for "Tatsuya Criminology" as a new global standard, English will be used all the time.Participation fee is free, and one-off or general classes are also possible. Those who wish to participate need to apply in advance from the Ryukoku University website.
