The Cabinet Office has selected a total of seven projects in six prefectures and one city, including Toyama Prefecture and Kitakyushu City, as the first grant targets for the "Regional University / Regional Industry Revitalization Grant" that was established to revitalize local universities.We examined 6 projects that were submitted from all over the country in the industrial promotion and professional human resources development projects in which the university and local private companies collaborated.
According to the Cabinet Office, the seven selected projects were submitted by Toyama Prefecture, Kitakyushu City, Gifu Prefecture, Shimane Prefecture, Hiroshima Prefecture, Tokushima Prefecture, and Kochi Prefecture.Toyama Prefecture aims to develop the pharmaceutical industry, and Toyama University and Toyama Prefectural University form a scrum with the Toyama Prefectural Pharmaceutical Industry Association.In Gifu Prefecture, Gifu University, Gifu National College of Technology, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, etc. will cooperate in promoting the aerospace industry.
In Shimane Prefecture, Shimane University, Matsue National College of Technology, Hitachi Metals, etc. will work together to develop a base for advanced metal materials.Hiroshima Prefecture aims to innovate transportation equipment, and Hiroshima University, Prefectural University of Hiroshima, and the China Economic Federation will cooperate.In Tokushima Prefecture, Tokushima University, Shikoku University, Nichia Corporation, etc. will collaborate to promote LED-related industries.
In Kochi Prefecture, Kochi University, Kochi University of Technology, Kochi Prefectural Agricultural Cooperative Central Association, etc. will promote the business in anticipation of the evolution of facility gardening agriculture.With a view to developing industrial robots that can perform the same tasks as humans, Kitakyushu City will form a scrum with Kyushu Institute of Technology, Kitakyushu Institute of Technology, and Yaskawa Electric.
A maximum of 7 million yen will be delivered each year for 5 years, and the amount to be delivered in 2018 will be decided by the end of October.
