According to a survey by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the employment rate of university students scheduled to graduate in the spring of 2019 reached 10% as of October 1.It increased by 77.0 points compared to the same period of the previous year, and reached the highest level since 1.8 for two consecutive years.It is believed that the number of companies that have accelerated recruitment activities has increased due to the economic recovery and labor shortage.

 The survey was conducted on 112 students from a total of 6,250 schools, including national, public and private universities, junior colleges, colleges of technology, and vocational schools (specialized training colleges), which were selected in consideration of the founders and the balance of the region.

 According to the report, the employment rate of university students was 1.7% for national and public universities, up 75.0 points from the same period of the previous year, and 1.9% for private universities, up 77.6 points.By gender, both boys and girls accounted for 77.0%, 2.5 points higher for boys and 1.0 points higher for girls in the same period of the previous year.By liberal arts and science, liberal arts was 2.1%, 76.5 points higher than the same period of the previous year, and science was 0.6%, up 79.2 points.

 By region, the highest rate was in the Kinki area at 82.1%.This was followed by the Kanto area (80.5%) and the Chubu area (76.0%), which were the highest in the areas with the three major metropolitan areas.On the other hand, Hokkaido / Tohoku area is 70.4%, Kyushu area is 69.0%, and Chugoku / Shikoku area is 64.7%.In most areas, the offer rate was higher than in the same period of the previous year, but only in the Hokkaido and Tohoku areas, it was 2.1 points lower than in the same period of the previous year.

 The job offer rate for junior colleges is 3.4%, which is 42.8 points higher than the same period of the previous year, 0.7% for colleges of technology is 93.7 points lower than the same period of the previous year, and 6.3% for vocational schools (specialized courses), which is 61.3 points higher than the same period of the previous year.
