When the anti-teasing bystander education program developed by Chiba University and others was implemented at public junior high schools in both Chiba and Saitama prefectures, a research group consisting of Chiba University and others found that there was a growing awareness of denying bullying. rice field. However, in a class with a poor class climate, there is one side that has an adverse effect, and the state of the class climate affects the educational effect.

The survey was conducted in collaboration with Chiba University, Shizuoka University, and Hyogo Prefectural University. After the implementation, a questionnaire was distributed and the condition of the class climate was tabulated into three stages: good, intermediate, and bad.
According to it, the awareness of denying bullying increased after the implementation of the bystander education program in all class climates. It was also found that the degree of increase was particularly high in classes with a good class climate.

Bystander behavior increased supportive behavior, such as comforting a bullied child, in a good class, but declined in moderate and poor classes. The arbitration behavior to stop bullying increased significantly in the good class, but hardly changed in the bad class.

The entrainment behavior of synchronizing and adjusting to the surroundings was almost unchanged in the good class, but increased in the bad class.Reporting behavior increased in classes with a good class climate, but the results were largely divided by class climate, such as a slight increase in moderate classes and a decrease in poor classes.

The research group continued the bullying prevention education and the class climate because the behavior of the bystanders showed good changes only in the class with a good class climate, and the class climate was not good and there was an adverse effect in the class. I think it is necessary to make efforts to improve.
