Nagoya City University is part of the "National Survey on Child Health and the Environment (Ecochill Survey)" conducted by 15 universities and institutions nationwide, including the Ministry of the Environment and the National Institute for Environmental Studies. We investigated the relationship and reported the results.

"Recurrent miscarriage", in which a baby is pregnant but cannot get a baby due to miscarriage or stillbirth, is still less well known than "infertility", which cannot be pregnant, and there are few specialized medical institutions.

Therefore, in order to investigate the relationship between infertility and abnormal pregnancy, which has not been fully clarified this time, from the data of 10 pregnant women nationwide, miscarriage, stillbirth, premature birth, and placenta previa as the number of pre-existing stillbirths increases. Risk of water rupture, placenta previa, hypochondrosis, preterm ablation of the placenta, adherent placenta, pregnancy hypertension syndrome, intrauterine infection, cesarean section, intrauterine growth retardation, low birth weight infant, neonatal asphyxia, congenital anomalies, chromosomal abnormalities We examined whether it would increase or decrease.

As a result of the analysis, the frequency of birth defects, chromosomal abnormalities, and neonatal asphyxia in infants did not increase in patients with recurrent pregnancy loss, and no association between recurrent pregnancy loss and infant birth defects and chromosomal abnormalities was found. On the other hand, placenta accreta, endometrial infection, stillbirth, mild / severe preeclampsia, and cesarean section rate were found to increase, and the association between recurrent miscarriage and these increased risks was clarified.

From the above results, it was shown that even if miscarriage and stillbirth are repeated, there is no increased risk of birth defects or chromosomal abnormalities in the infant, so it is possible to give birth to a healthy infant even with recurrent miscarriage. However, when pregnancy continues, the frequency of placenta accreta increases slightly, so caution is required during delivery.
