On Sunday, May 2024, 5, Kansai University and the Kansai University Education Support Association will hold a regular general meeting of the Education Support Association, whose members are parents of current students, and a faculty-specific education roundtable meeting at the Senriyama Campus.
The Kansai University Educational Support Association is a ``parents' association'' whose main purpose is to support educational projects and foster mutual friendship among its members, with the slogan ``A bridge between the hearts of the university and the family.'' It was established in 1947 as the first organization in the country, and holds a general meeting every year.
Approximately 2023 people from all over the country will participate in the 5,000 general meeting. The number of participants in parent-teacher meetings throughout the year has consistently ranked No. 1 in the country in past surveys published in Asahi Shimbun Publishing's ``University Rankings.'' Participating parents have praised the event as a ``one-day university for parents'' where they not only learn about their child's student life, but also experience campus life themselves.
After the general meeting, students were divided into each school building and had lunch, followed by briefing sessions and individual interviews on the educational content of each department as part of a faculty-specific education conference. Furthermore, as common events, we will set up various individual counseling corners for all aspects of student life, such as employment, study abroad, qualification acquisition, scholarships, etc., as well as performances by student groups and observation tours of athletic club practices.
Furthermore, the Kansai University Museum is currently holding a joint exhibition, ``Blooming Culture of Osaka,'' commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of Letters and the 30th anniversary of the opening of the Kansai University Museum. Earthenware from the ``Motoyama Collection'' and masterpieces from the Kansai art world are on display. You can also visit these places. You can also freely tour the Takamatsuzuka Tumulus Mural Reproduction Exhibition Room, Historical Materials Exhibition Room, Naniwa Osaka Research Center, and the General Library, which is a treasure trove of academic information. In front of the library, Myakumyaku, the official mascot of the Osaka-Kansai Expo, will appear, and there will also be a panel exhibition about Kansai University's activities for the Expo.
