Thirteen universities with campuses in Kanagawa Prefecture have decided to adopt a unified recommendation letter for school recommendation-based selection for the 13 entrance exam. In addition to standardizing the format, the aim is to reduce the burden on high school teachers by shortening the time it takes to create recommendation letters by changing data entry from handwriting to PC.

According to the Kanagawa Prefectural University Entrance Examination Public Relations Committee, the universities participating in the unification of recommendation forms are Oberlin University, Kanagawa University, Kanagawa Institute of Technology, Kamakura Women's University, Kanto Gakuin University, Sangyo University, Shonan Institute of Technology, Denenchofu Gakuen University, Toin Yokohama University, Tokyo Polytechnic University, Toyo Eiwa University, Yokohama University of Commerce, Yokohama Pharmaceutical University.

The name of the recommendation letter is ``National University Recommendation Letter Standard Format.'' The Kanagawa Prefecture University Entrance Examination Public Relations Liaison Committee, which is comprised of universities with campuses in Kanagawa Prefecture, analyzes the recommendation letter formats of member schools and determines the recommendation letter format based on interviews with high schools in the Kanto and Koshinetsu areas. .

According to the results of a questionnaire survey of high schools, 92.6% responded that it would be better to introduce it or that it would be okay to introduce it (sample 107).

The Kanagawa Prefectural Board of Education said in a statement, ``The principal has expressed his opinion as an issue. We are in favor of it and we are grateful. We hope that as many universities as possible will participate.''
